Job Description: Associate Greenhouse Engineer-March 2024

Greenhouse Design LLC is a progressive, small, and growing consulting engineering firm, specializing in greenhouse engineering and design. We are seeking an Associate Greenhouse Engineer to immediately join our team in Burbank, OH. The position responsibilities primarily are focused on the engineering design and production of construction documents for new facilities, additions, and renovation of greenhouse projects across the US and Canada. This will require technical competence in MEP design, the creation of construction documents, and working with distance team members. The primary project clientele includes private businesses, schools, colleges, and universities.

Requirements:

·   B.S. or M.S. in Engineering preferably in Agricultural, Biological, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering meeting NCEES requirements for Professional Engineering licensure.

·   Passed NCEES Engineer in Training test or scheduled to take test.

·   CAD/BIM, Microsoft Office and industry related software proficiency.

·   Flexibility in working arrangements and times, with a “get it done” attitude

·   Limited travel to job sites and training as required.

·   0-4 years experience

Candidate must have the following skills and abilities:

·   Ability to work cooperatively in a positive, professional manner with the engineering principals and team, as well as interface with other engineering disciplines, architects, owners and clients.

·   Willingness to work towards Professional Engineering Licensure.

·   Willingness to learn and apply engineering across the various disciplines as they relate to greenhouse structures and systems.

·   Experience with BIM and/or CAD systems and the expectation to further expand and use your skills with Revit BIM.

·   Ability to work independently as well as in a virtual team environment.

·   Attention to detail.

Desirable skills and abilities:

·   Agricultural background or experience with greenhouses or controlled environments.

·   Experience with Autodesk Revit

·   Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD

·   Preferred experience in the construction industry focused on the drawing of architectural elements and MEP systems.

·   Experience with HVAC, Plumbing, and/or Electrical trades.

·   Mechanical Aptitude/ Hobbies/ Construction background

·   Computer programming (any language)

Job Type: Full Time Hourly with flexible hours.  Majority of the time in the Burbank, OH office with up to 40% offsite hybrid after 90 days.
